Big Bad Beasties Around Every Corner

You never know what big bad animal is lurking around the corner. And no, I’m not being paranoid – This is the week when an alligator escaped from the circus visiting a small town in Hesse, Germany, and was found prowling the streets after dark. Plus a four-year-old hippo has been removed from the Cape Town sewers which had been his home since 2009. Do you know how dangerous hippos are? They’re extremely aggressive and arguably the most dangerous animal in Africa (barring the mosquito).

I don’t relish the thought of coming nose to nose with one, especially one that’s been in the sewers for a year. So I’m taking the precautionary measure of sticking to wide open spaces, like beaches. And I recommend that you do too. Check out our travel deals for some inspiration.
