Pick of The Real Deals: Med Cruise & Stay
You can tell it’s time to pick the favourites one of the Real Deals when the editorial team sends out a sigh of relief that the weekly newsletter email is sent! This week it’s my choice and I really like the look of Cruise Nation’s offer for a seven-night Eastern Mediterranean cruise on Norwegian Jade plus three nights in Sorrento.
Prices start from £799 per person for an interior stateroom, with outside staterooms starting at £999 per person and balcony staterooms from £1149 per person. And that includes return flights from the UK to Venice, where the cruise departs, as well a return flights from Venice to Naples, the airport for Sorrento.
What I like even more about this offer is that there’s a choice of two itineraries for the cruise. You can either visit the Adriatic, Greece & Turkey, or you can set sail for the Mediterranean and Greek Islands. Both are onboard Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Jade, and she boasts plenty to keep you busy – and full! There’s a choice of dining options with flavours from Spain, Japan, France and more in there. Get active at the Nintendo Wii ™ wall and take to the waterslides as well!
The Adriatic cruise takes you first to Dubrovnik in Croatia, famous for its walled medieval city. Then it’s on to Piraeus, the port for the Greek capital of Athens, home to some of the most iconic ancient buildings such as the Parthenon. Izmir in Turkey is next, with its quaint old streets and then it’s back to Croatia for a stop in Split before returning to Venice.
The Mediterranean cruise stops off at three Greek islands – Corfu, Santorini and Mykonos, so there’s plenty of time to enjoy the historical centres or relax on the beach. The final stop on this cruise in on the Greek mainland in Katakolon, best known for its pretty port and Museum of Ancient Greek Technology. Then it’s back to Venice.
As if that’s not enough, you’ll be heading to Sorrento on the south western coast of Italy for three days of relaxing in the beautiful surroundings, and perhaps just a spot of drinking the locally-made limoncello! Look out for viewpoints, as you can get great views across to Naples and also of Mount Vesuvius.
