An Action-Packed Weekend
This weekend sees not one, but four amazing reasons for enjoying yourself! And none of these reasons is the Olympics or the Queen’s Jubilee! So get yourself out and about this weekend, take an umbrella in case of spring showers and get involved.
St Patrick’s Day

The Irish celebrations vastly overshadows any of the other patron saints’ days here in the UK and St Patrick’s Day has become a worldwide event, with some of the hugest celebrations taking place in New York, Boston and Chicago. If you fancy hopping over the Irish Sea last-minute though, the party rocks on for five days in Dublin! There’s bound to be an Irish pub near you though, so don something green and join in with a pint of Guinness!
Six Nations Final Matches

This sporting spectacular is coming to an end this weekend, and there’s still plenty to play for, so get yourself to the sofa or to the pub and soak up a day of crunching challenges and nervy kicks. First up is the battle for the wooden spoon, with Scotland and Italy meeting in Rome both trying to score their first points of the Six Nations. The mighty Wales are taking on France in Cardiff next, looking to complete the Grand Slam and after that it’s a battle for bragging rights between England and Ireland at Twickenham.
Formula 1 Season

Perhaps only the late night party-goers and the super-keen early birds will see the start of the Formula 1 season live, as the race starts at an eye-watering 6am, made all the earlier by St Patrick’s Day revels the night before. But never fear, there’s plenty more of the season to go. Why not plan a trip to see one of the races live? Top picks are the Italian Grand Prix at Monza and the Canadian Grand Prix at the Gilles-Villeneuve Circuit in Montreal.
Mothers’ Day

On Sunday it’s time to lower the pace a bit and perhaps spend time with your Mum. It’s not too late to arrange something like Afternoon Tea at a posh hotel near you, or if you’re strapped for cash you could plan a walk and take a picnic. Just don’t forget a little gift – chocolates and flowers are the traditional way to go, but you could book her a spa day trip to use when it suits her, or take a look on craft sites like Etsy and get inspired to make something yourself!
