Pick of the Real Deals: Isle of Wight Wonder

I have SUCH a soft spot where the Isle of Wight is concerned – I spent many a happy summer holiday there as a child. So I thoroughly recommend that every single one of you books this five-day tour we found from Just Go! Holidays. It only costs £169.99 per person and includes excursions to some of my favourite spots on the island, leaving enough free time to indulge in a delicious cream tea or three.

So where do you get to visit? Well for starters there’s Osborne House – Queen Victoria’s own stamp of approval for the island. ‘It is impossible to imagine a prettier spot,’ wrote the Queen after a visit to Osborne (and who am I to argue otherwise?). The house is impressive too, especially the ornate Indian inspired Durbar Room, recognising Victoria’s role as Empress of India.

Next up is a trip to the seaside town of Ryde – I’d recommend sunbathing on the long golden beach (It is always sunny on the Isle of Wight in my memories) but there’s also a pretty marina and esplanade to explore.

Your second day of excursions is an ‘Island Highlights Tour’ Beginning in Ventnor, a unique resort built on terraces lining the (very) steep slopes down to the beach.

Then off to Alum Bay, which is where you’ll be able to see one of the Isle of Wight’s most famous landmarks: the jagged Needles – a series of rocks, with a lighthouse, jutting out into the sea. Alum Bay is also where the coloured sands are found.

Final stop is Cowes, famous for it’s annual regatta held every August. About 1000 boats will take part, making it the largest sailing regatta of its kind in the world.

The deal covers more than just the excursions of course – you’ll also get four nights hotel accommodation (at one of three hotels on the island, all regularly used by Just Go! Holidays) Your breakfast and dinner are included and the hotels even lay on entertainment on some evenings.

In case you were wondering transport is all covered too – you’ll be picked up by coach from one of Just Go! Holidays’ network of over 1000 pick up points around the UK, and taken all the way to the hotel. So that is pretty much one whole holiday taken care of. All you need to decide is where on the island makes the best cream tea – enjoy finding out!
