Pick of the Real Deals: Historic Liverpool
Don’t give up on the British summer yet! Despite the soggy week we’ve just had I’m remaining optimistic, so much so that I’ve picked a city break in Liverpool as my Real Deal of the week.

The amazing value did make the choice a little easier – you’ll pay just £45 per person per night to stay at the four-star Atlantic Tower Hotel, set right on the city’s historic docks. And you’ll get plenty of extras too – the deal includes a three-course dinner at the Vista Restaurant with a FREE bottle of Prosecco and you’ll get a full English breakfast in the morning.

If you’re celebrating you can splash out on an upgrade for less too. With this offer an upgrade to an Executive room costs just £15 per night where it would normally cost £25.

The hotel really makes the most of the views – you can dine in the Vista Restaurant whilst admiring the River Mersey and the Liver Building. Alternatively a similar view is available accompanied by a well mixed cocktail in the Vu Bar.

Liverpool was European Capital of Culture in 2008, so you’re not likely to run out of things to do come rain or shine. The Albert Docks (practically on your doorstep) have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in recognition of their historic importance. Take a boat tour to learn more about the area, and if the weather does take a turn for the worse you can always duck inside the Tate Liverpool, the unique Beatles Story attraction, or the Merseyside Maritime Museum.
